Zach's 4 months old!

Yes, that's right - 4 months already!! I can't believe it!

Zach is fully in control of his head now, and is very close to being in full control of sitting up. He can sit well in his Bumbo, and loves spending time in the Exersaucer. He's a happy boy, smiling almost all of the time. He's become quite independent, wanting to hold the bottle as he's being fed, and pulling his cork (pacifier) out when he's done with it. He also plays with quite a few toys, loves to take Mom or Dad's hand and stick their fingers into his mouth (we have to make sure we wash our hands first!), and enjoys watching anyone or anything. He's recently discovered Squiggles ("Iggles" to Alex), so that's another fun thing to watch at home.

We were able to snap a shot of the 4-month man! :) (yes, that's the shirt Alex wore on Easter - Zach was anything but "cranky" in it! Another testament to how much bigger Zach is than Alex)......

Of course, anything that happens to Zach, Alex wants the same thing. So I went to take a picture of Alex, told him to smile, and this is what I got.....

Then a wry smile......notice the new train - James - that we got at the store. Alex was a good listener while we were out shopping, so he was able to choose a new train. James was his choice to add to Thomas, Percy, Salty, and Gordon.
We'll head to the Dr. sometime this week to get Zach's 4-month checkup taken care of. If you'd like to wager on his weight, we're up for some friendly competition. :) We're also going to try to adjust the boys bedtimes to next week's time change (I HATE time changes!!).......that's always "fun" to try to get them adjusted......springing forward is the WORST!
Wish us luck - and thanks for reading! :)

Zachy's New Toy!

This morning we had a great idea to bring up some of Alex's "old" toys - including the Exersaucer! Zach had a BLAST!!!!

He was able to turn himself around (only to the left), but reached out to touch many of the toys - and tried to get them into his mouth!

Then Alex woke up from his nap, so Alex had to share toys with Zach....notice that Zach is chewing on Salty, one of Thomas' friends.

Then Alex showed Zach how to roll the wheels around to make noise...Zach actually watched what he was doing!

That's it for our Saturday! Feel REALLY LUCKY that ya'll got TWO posts in TWO days!! :) (We're off to watch the NNS race now - go Carl!)
Oh, yeah....interesting tidbit about the outfit.....Zach wore an outfit today (at 3 months, 3 weeks) that Alex wore when he was meeting Noah (his cousin) for the first time. I don't know exactly when that was, but Noah was born 5 months after Alex, so Alex was at least 5 months plus one or two weeks.......Zach's going to be our big boy!!! :)

Friday Night Pics

Another Friday night, another chance to share a whole bunch of pictures with you. We hope everyone had a good week. Things were good for us here. Christine had her second consecutive 4 day work week, so she enjoyed spending the day at home with her boys, even if Alex was a little on the naughty side. Andy had a busy week at the clinic. Zach is growing like crazy. And Alex, well...he's a 2 year old. If you've ever had a 2 year old, you probably know what that means. So without further ado, lets move onto the pictures.

Alex using his dump truck as a step-stool. The boy is too smart for his own good.
Alex, after narrowly missing smacking his face on the counter when his dump truck tipped over.
Daddy and Alex's new game, wrap and spin. The following pictures were taken in succession.

Supper time last night. Alex took a liking to eating ketchup with a spoon.
(Grandma Le, hold on to your stomach....)

Licking the ketchup off his corndog.

That looks good daddy. Can I have some?

A scoop of ketchup.

Are you watching this?

Mmm...sweet, sweet ketchup.

Alex, incognito. (This was after he got up this morning - he wasn't quite ready for the camera, but it was just too cute not to snap a few shots!)

Stop looking at me. Zach, deep in thought. (Aunt Elly, note the CORRECT finger this time!!)

Breakfast time. Note the elevated spoon while he eats peaches with his fingers.

What are you looking at?

Zach, in his "I'm so huggable" shirt.

Confused Alex.

I don't want to sit next to Zach.

Who would have thought it would be easier to get the 3 month old to smile than the 2 year old?
Finally, a video of Alex brushing his teeth while playing and dancing. 2 years old and already a master multitasker. He's got his daddy's rhythm....which isn't much.

And the highlight of Christine's day - - Alex has learned how to undress himself. He came running out of his bedroom holding his pants and diaper. He proceeded to throw them both at Christine (who was feeding Zach while sitting on the couch), and then RAN around the house for as long as he could. He wore nothing but a smile for a good 5 minutes...until Zach finished eating.

Absolutely fantastic. (He even peed on the bathroom floor - just to spite us, I'm sure.)

Picture Sunday

Good evening. We hope tonight's blog post finds you all doing well. I certainly hope everyone had a pleasant and restful weekend. Everything was great here in central Nebraska. The boys slept in a little bit on Saturday, so we enjoyed a few extra moments of sleep. Then today we took a quick trip down to Grand Island to pick up a few items at Sam's Club. Other than that, it was a quiet weekend around here, so we thought we'd let our pictures to the talking.

Zach is really starting to enjoy his tummy time, as he shows here. And here.
Unfortunately, Alex enjoys Zach's tummy time too.And this is what Zach would look like with Alex's hair (it doesn't look good).
Two happy little boys.
And now for a celebratory head butt.
Alex playing with his favorite non-human, Thomas (or as he pronounces it, Nomas).
Three Christmases and birthdays, and this is by far his favorite toy. The boy loves trains.
Salty, followed by Nomas.
For a two year old, its much easier to put your shoes on your hands.
Today, the only place Zach would relax and stop crying for Andy was lying on the big pile of dirty towels. What a strange little boy.
Happy Zach in towel land.

We will close out with 2 videos. The first one is entitled: "Vroom: Fun with Diaper Boxes". It was shot in celebration of the first NASCAR race of the season! YAY! Even though it was an uneventful finish by the rainout, we are happy that Matt Kenseth won. (And YAY for Kyle Busch being taken out!!) :) And now Andy and Alex - they're preparing for the 2025 season (that's when Alex will be 18).

The next video we shot for two reasons. The first reason was to have video evidence to prove to health and human services that his head injury was accidental. In case the head injury didn't happen, we figured it would do fine here on the blog instead.

Well, that's it. Hope everyone has a happy, healthy week.
